Most of the work of Secure the Call is accomplished by volunteers.
How do I sign up to become a volunteer?
You can become a volunteer by signing up here.
As a volunteer, what would I do for Secure the Call?
Please check out our 10 Volunteer Activities for more information about what we will be asking our volunteers to do.

I have found a location interested in hosting a barrel. What do I do now?
Great work! On our Resources page, you can download a Permanent Barrel Request Form, which the manager of the location can fill out and send to us.
I have found an organization interested in becoming a Community Partner. What do I do now?
Excellent! You can e-mail the organization’s information to Penny, our Community Partner Coordinator, at penny@securethecall.org. Please note that there may be a delay of up to 30 days before this organization can be officially recognized as a Community Partner.
How can I represent Secure the Call at local environmental events in my area?
Secure the Call is often asked to participate in local events, and as a volunteer you will be able to represent Secure the Call at events near you! You can find flyers for distribution at the Volunteer Resources page. If possible, contact the event coordinators and ask them to include in their advertisements a request that event-goers bring their old cell phones. That way you can not only represent Secure the Call, but you can also help gather more phones to help the community!
How can I find current Community Partners or current permanent barrels in my area?
A list of all current permanent barrel locations and Community Partners is available at the Volunteer Resources page.
My organization/school/company/building is interested in holding a month-long drive. How can I help organize this?
Excellent! All the materials necessary for organizing and holding a month-long drive are available under Volunteer Resources, including a request form, poster, and donation information.
